Application and Tuition Fees
If you have citizenship in a European Union (EU) or European Economic Area (EEA) country, or Switzerland, you are not required to pay application or tuition fees. You are required to provide documentation of your citizenship status in order for your application to be processed.

Application Fees
An application fee of 900 SEK (Swedish kronor) must be received by the deadline indicated in order for your application to be processed.
Please note that when applying for courses you have to use the online application form found at Linköping University's website. This form must be submitted to Linköping University directly and the application fee must be paid to Linköping University directly, not through universityadmissions.se (see How to pay). Payments of application fee done through universityadmissions.se are not valid when applying for a single subject course using Linköping University online application form.

Tuition Fees Master's Degree Programmes
- Citizens from within the EU/EEA and Switzerland: No tuition fees.
- All others: 95,000 – 150,000 SEK per academic year

Tuition Fees Courses
- Citizens from within the EU/EEA and Switzerland: No tuition fees.
- All others: Tuition fees depend on the study field and on the length of the course.

Students Exempt from Tuition Fees
- Residents of Sweden and citizens of EU/ EEA (and Switzerland) member nations are exempt from paying tuition fees.
- Students granted a permanent Swedish residency permit
- Students granted a temporary Swedish residency permit for reasons other than studies. (Having a temporary residency permit for studies in Sweden does NOT grant you exemption from fee payments)
- Students attending as a part of an exchange agreement will not pay tuition fees.
- Doctoral level studies will remain free of charge for all foreign students.
- Students that have begun their studies before tuition fees are introduced will be able to complete their study programme according to the rules of the current system, and will not be required to pay fees.
