Prerequisites
The specific requirements for the course are stated under prerequisites in the course syllabus. Check that you have taken the equivalent courses at your home university and fulfil the requirements.
Language
Courses listed in the page ”Courses in English” in the study guide are available for application for incoming exchange students. If the course syllabus says: “Course language is Swedish/English.” then the course will be given in English if at least one exchange student is admitted to the course. The student has to apply for the course before deadline of application period. However, to take courses given in Swedish you have to be fluent in Swedish.
Level
The level of the course is indicated as follows:
- G1 - Introductory level (undergraduate, no previous study required)

Study period
The academic year is divided into an autumn (ht) and a spring (vt) semester, each having two study periods:
- ht1 - from the end of August to the end of October.
- ht2 - from the end of October-to the end of December.
- vt1 - from mid January to mid March.
- vt2 - from mid March to the beginning of June.
Timetable module
All courses are placed in timetable module groups (1, 2, 3, or 4). Courses placed in the same group will be scheduled at the same hours in the timetable. To make sure there will be no collisions in your timetable you should only take one course from each timetable module, block, for each study period.
Campus
Education is conducted at the three main campuses in the cities of Linköping and Norrköping. A bus connects the campuses with a travel time of about 40 minutes.
LKPG indicates that the course is given in Linköping and NKPG that it is given at the Norrköping Campus. A few courses marked LKPG are given at the University Hospital Campus in Linköping - especially courses in biomedical engineering. Select all courses in one study period in either Norrköping or Linköping, or you will have problems getting to classes in time.
If you wish to select courses according to campus, you can also search for courses at a certain campus in the search engine.
