Arrival information for master's students
The Institute of Technology
Welcome as a Master’s student to the Institute of Technology at Linköping University, located at Campus Linköping and Campus Norrköping. Here you will find information specific to you as an admitted master's student at the Institute of Technology.
Arrival information
You are expected to arrive in Sweden in August 2013. There are compulsory orientation sessions called Information Days as follows:
Linköping: Two compulsory days on 28 and 29 August, exact schedule will be published later.
Norrköping: One compulsory day on 29 August, exact schedule will be published later.
During these days you will receive important information regarding your studies. You will also meet your programme coordinator and the students who will be your mentors for the first semester.
The first study period starts on Monday 2 September.
Please be aware that the programme you are admitted to, is the only programme available.
Apply for the Residence permit now!
If you are at citizen of a country other than the Nordic and EU/EEA countries, you must have a valid passport and have been granted a residence permit before travelling to Sweden. You apply for the residence permit at the Swedish embassy/consulate in your country. It takes at least two months for the application to be processed. It is very important that you apply for a residence permit as soon as possible in order to get it on time!
We strongly recommend that you apply before 15 June 2013 to ensure that your application will be processed in time.

Original documents
Admission is granted on condition that you can present original documents confirming the qualifications you used in support of your application. You must present your documents to the Admissions officer within 4 weeks from the starting date of the programme.
Applicants who did not hold the required degree but could prove registration for the last semester of a programme leading to such a degree, have to show the degree certificate (diploma) by 1 November, 2013. Students who are not able to show the degree by 1 November will not be allowed to continue their studies.

Course registration
Course and Programme registration must be completed on or before 13 September, 2013. Registration after this date will invariably be dismissed. Students who have not registered by then, will not be allowed to begin or continue with their studies.
Timetables and Study Handbook
Timetables for the first study period will be available from mid-August 2013. Courses run at full time from 2 September 2013. The timetable will be handed out to you on Information day.

Swedish Language Course
A voluntary level one course in Swedish is offered in Spring 2014. You will be able to select the course in October 2013.
