Farewell Ceremony 2013
Linköping University wishes to thank international Master's students in their last semester of studies for all the time together. This festive congratulatory ceremony marks the end of your studies and the beginning of your time as an alumnus.

Further addition of participants to the ceremony is no longer possible, but do let us know if something prevents you from coming!
Time and Place:
When: 12 June 2013
Where: Linköping, Campus Valla, Kårallen
Time: 13-17
Transportation Norrköping <--> Linköping
- A LiU-representative will wait at 12:50 on the bus stop "Universitetet" -the first stop on Campus Valla and escort you to Kårallen (There will be no LiU-staff in Norrköping).
- Students travelling from Norrköping can travel for free on the campus bus (number 73). Use your LiU-Card as ticket.
- Guests can travel on the same bus (number 73) but need to purchase a ticket. It is not possible to buy a ticket on the bus. Please buy a travel card in advance at Östgötatrafiken and charge it with money. Adult one way: 85 kr. Return ticket (24-hr card): 140 kr. On the 24-hr card you can travel as much as you like in both Linköping and Norrköping during 24 hrs, starting when you make you first trip.

The event:
- This is an official occasion and a celebration, please wear your finest clothes. You are also very welcome to wear your national costume.
- The event includes congratulatory speeches, a get-together, photo opportunity and a chance to mingle.
- Light refreshments will be served.
Guests:
- You a very welcome to bring a guest. Normally, you can bring one guest; however, if your parents wish to attend, both of them are welcome to join. Mark whether you will bring one guest, or your parents, or no guest in the sign-up from the invitation letter.
- Please note that if your guests require a visa in order to travel to Sweden, you ought to start the visa application process as soon as possible in order for it to be ready in time (ideally February at the latest). Congratulatory letter and degree:
- During the ceremony, a congratulatory letter is handed out by Ms Helen Dannetun, Vice Chancellor.
- You can apply for a diploma once you are ready with all your courses and your thesis. For more information about applying for your academic degree, please see this link.
Merchandise
- We are happy to confirm that LiU Store will be present during the event, offering products with logotype of Linköping University. Use the chance to show the world that you are a Linköping University alumnus - get a t-shirt, a hoodie or a bag!
- Please make sure you can pay in cash as they will not be able to accept bank cards.
Invitation and sign up:
- Sign up was done using the link in your email invitation sent to you in April (and a reminder in May). A place has been reserved for each participant, which means that sign-up is binding.
- You can sign up once, even if you have studied two programmes. It is unfortunately not possible to go on stage twice.
- The ceremony is intended to mark the end of your studies and the beginning of your time as alumnus/alumna. Nevertheless, if you have a few courses still waiting to be finished, you can still participate, as the event is only held once a year.
- Atlantis students, programme coordinators and key actors in the sphere of internationalisation are also invitied to celebrate with us. Swedish students from international programmes are of course also welcome.
Fees:
- The ceremony is free of charge. However, please respect your commitment by signing up once the invitation is sent and letting us know if something prevents you from attending.
