I’ve been working for 4 years in business, however, my bachelor’s degree is not in Economics or Business Administration, given my background, can you tell me if I am eligible to apply for the program?
We require 1) either a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration or in Economics; or 2) a Bachelor Degree in any other field with at least 90 credits, i.e. three semesters of full time studies, in business administration or economics or the equivalent.
Will you consider working experience? Do I need full-time work experience to be considered for admission?
We do consider that work experience is of great help for your study in this program, however, work experience is not required for entry to the SMIO Program.

I am a senior at my university and will not get my bachelor degree until June next year, am I still eligible for apply the program?
According to Linköping University Master Application Requirements, applicants who do not hold the required degree are eligible to apply. In such case you have to provide a certificate which confirms that you are registered for the last semester of a program leading to such a degree. An official document stating that you are likely to be awarded the degree before the start of the program must be sent in with the application. The degree certificate has to be presented by 15 October.
I wonder should I apply this program directly through your department or through studera.nu?
You should send all required documents directly to www.studera.nu. Applications sent to the university are invalid.
My home university is not included in the International Handbook of Universities, what should I do? Can I still apply?
You can apply for the program. All universities will be checked.
Could you tell me if I would be accepted to the program?
We are not able to assess the possibility of you being admitted to the program. You should wait until May for an official mail informing you if you have been admitted.
A summary of my bachelor thesis is required, what is the format of the summary? Should I just send my thesis abstract?
Preferably, summary should contain some 1000 -1500 words, noting that it is a bit different from the thesis abstract, which is itself included within the summary. In a summary you should not only state thesis abstract, but also thesis's background, your research questions, and the conclusions, so that we'll have a more comprehensive view of your bachelor studies.
At present, I am a senior student and will not start my degree thesis until next year in March, so I can't provide my bachelor's essay in the supporting documentation. What should I do to solve this problem and make myself eligible for the requirement?
Send in an official document issued by your thesis supervisor stating exactly when (in which month) you will get your bachelor thesis done in next year. Also, take your officially certified thesis with you to Linköping University if you have been admitted to the SMIO program in the autumn next year.
TOEFL/IELTS
My TOEFL/IELTS score is lower than required, will I still have a chance to be accepted into this program?
It is the best for you to retake the TOEFL/IELTS and try to obtain a higher score. Our program requires a high level proficiency in English since you will have to face a high volume of academic reading and participate in class discussions if you are admitted to the program.
I have studied all courses in English at my university, do I still need to submit an English test results?
According to Linköping University Master Admission Requirements, The following applicants do not have to submit the results of a language test:
• Students holding a bachelor's degree from a university with English as the only language of instruction, according to the latest edition of International Handbook of Universities.
• Students holding a bachelor’s degree (a Swedish Kandidatexamen) or equivalent academic qualifications with English as the major subject.
• Students holding a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science or Technology, awarded in India or Pakistan.
• Students with 30 credits from a Nordic country and the language of instruction of the course/program/university is English
If your situation fits any of the descriptions above, you do not need to submit your English test results.

No, all documents must reach Studera.nu by February 1.

How many applications do you receive each year and how many applicants are usually admitted to the program?
Last year we received over 2400 applications and approximately 6% of the applicants received an offer of admission.
What kind of degree will I be awarded? is it going to be professionally oriented MBA or a Master Degree?
The degree will be Master of Science (Two years) in Business Administration
Can I work while studying this program?
Yes, it is allowed to work by your student visa. However, this is a full-time master program, which means it requires 40 hours workload per week (sometimes even more) and a high level of commitment. Thus, we do not recommend you to work while studying.

Do you offer scholarship from this program?

Are there any tuition fees for the year 2010?
No, there will be no tuition fees for students enrolled 2010. Tuition fees are expected to be charged from 2011, students enrolled in 2010 will be excluded from the tuition fee. But you still need to cover living expenses .
