Masters Student Siva Pandian brings biogas technology from Sweden to India

A student from the Master's programme in Energy and Environmental Engineering, Siva Pandian has been working the past year on bringing biogas development, technology and knowledge from Sweden to benefit his hometown of Chennai in India. The project, backed by Gasföreningen, will work with producing biogas from the sewage treatment plant, similar to what is done in Linköping and other cities in Sweden. Currently Chennai’s existing sewage plants, after upgrading, would be able to generate enough methane to replace 30,000 liters of diesel. Plans are even in place to upgrade buses to run on the biogas. More about the details of the project can be read about below, and will also be delivered in Sivas Master thesis later this Spring. Congratulations Siva
