History of European Identity, 7,5 hp
This course deals with the question of European Identity. Does it exist, how did it develop, what is the role played by geographical conditions, economy, religion, tradition, culture and politics? A guiding thought is that the history of Europe can be seen as a constantly changing system of networks that enables people to exchange ideas, trade, and culture. An important question is what can unite and what can split people in Europe? The concepts of internationalism and nationalism are also discussed.

Särskilda förkunskapskrav: At least one year of full time undergraduate study in relevant subjects, eg. politics, economics, law, history, geography. Documented knowledge of English equivalent to Engelska B/Engelska 6; i.e. English as native language or an internationally recognized test, e.g. TOEFL (minimum scores: Paper based 575 + TWE-score 4.5, and internet based 90), IELTS, academic (minimum score: Overall band 6.5 and no band under 5.5), or equivalent. Exemption from Swedish B.
