Molecular Imaging, 7,5 credits, 7,5 credits

In the course, the student will acquire knowledge and understanding in how molecular imaging can be used in different areas; what kind of biological, physiological and pathophysiological processes that can be studied with molecular imaging; different ways to monitor biological processes based on different kind of probes; methodological aspects of different medical imaging modalities that can be used for molecular imaging. Furthermore, knowledge will be gained to be able to discuss on some approaches to use molecular imaging in clinical issues and to describe how it can be a versatile tool in pre-clinical research. The is given on full time speed during five weeks.

Specific admission requirements: At least three years of full-time undergraduate studies in a major subject area with relevance for Life Science, e.g. from faculties within medicine, technology/natural sciences, odontology, pharmaceutical science. The lowest acceptable grade from undergraduate studies is Pass.

Applicants with a degree from a non-Swedish university must enclose an official examination certificate of at least three years of full-time studies in subjects with relevance for Life Science, such as biology, chemistry, medicine or the like.
Documented knowledge of English equivalent to Engelska B/Engelska 6; i.e. English as native language or an internationally recognized test, e.g. TOEFL (minimum scores: Paper based 575 + TWE-score 4.5, and internet based 90), IELTS, academic (minimum score: Overall band 6.5 and no band under 5.5), or equivalent.
