Cardiovascular Biology, 7,5 credits, 7,5 credits
After having completed the course, the student shall have acquired a deepened knowledge of the current understanding of the pathophysiology of cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension, atherosclerosis, arrhythmias and heart failure. Particular focus will be given to modern pharmacological and interventional therapies for such pathologies. The student will also be able to describe the pathological basis of different cardiovascular diseases and explain their alternative therapeutic avenues. The is course is given on full time speed during five weeks.

Specific admission requirements: At least three years of full-time undergraduate studies in a major subject area with relevance for Life Science, e.g. from faculties within medicine, technology/natural sciences, odontology, pharmaceutical science. The lowest acceptable grade from undergraduate studies is Pass.
Applicants with a degree from a non-Swedish university must enclose an official examination certificate of at least three years of full-time studies in subjects with relevance for Life Science, such as biology, chemistry, medicine or the like.
Documented knowledge of English equivalent to 'Engelska B'; i.e. English as native language or an internationally recognized test, e.g. TOEFL (minimum scores: Paperbased 575 + TWE-score 4.5, internetbased 90 TWE-score 20), IELTS, academic (minimum score: Overall band 6.5 and no band under 5.5), or equivalent.
