Visualizing Climate Change, 7,5 credits

The course will cover an introduction climate modelling, scenarios and the basics of geospatial and information visualization. Further, the handling of datasets, data collection and creation of presentations for a broad audience ranging from experts and decision makers to the general public will be covered. This course focuses on visualization as a tool for analysis, visual communication of complex linkages between resource consumption, global flows and climate change as well as visualization for decision making and planning in terms of interactive decision theatres through roleplays, narratives and interactive seminars.

Specific admission requirements: Applicants must, by the closing date for application, hold a bachelor´s degree/kandidatexamen (equivalent for example a professional degree) of at least 180 ECTS credits, including a 15 ECTS credit degree paper of equivalent. Relevant background is studies within natural science, social science, health science, humanities or engineering that relate to the environmental, social or ecenomic aspects of sustainable development.
Documented knowledge of English equivalent to Engelska B/Engelska 6; i.e. English as native language or an internationally recognized test, e.g. TOEFL (minimum scores: Paper based 575 + TWE-score 4.5, and internet based 90), IELTS, academic (minimum score: Overall band 6.5 and no band under 5.5), or equivalent.
