Online Research & Communication, 7,5 credits

Students will learn to perform structured searching, rather than surfing.Practically, students will learn skills in a) information retrieval, including optimal use of search language, interrogating national and international databases, using www search engines and intelligent agents, searching the dark web and evaluating online information. b) online communication, including the use of expert networks, Social Media, visual social communication, the creation of social objects and understanding the shift to a global communication sphere where networks have replaced individuals as the base unit of distribution and creation.

Specific admission requirements: Documented knowledge of English equivalent to Engelska B/Engelska 6; i.e. English as native language or an internationally recognized test, e.g. TOEFL (minimum scores: Paper based 575 + TWE-score 4.5, and internet based 90), IELTS, academic (minimum score: Overall band 6.5 and no band under 5.5), or equivalent.
