Environmental, Animal and Biomedical Ethics, basic course, 7,5 credits
This course gives an overview of bioethics in a broad sense, that is, the study of ethical issues raised by the life sciences and health care. It presents different views on environmental issues like sustainability and climate change, and different standpoints on using animals for food and scientific experimentation. It also focuses on issues in biomedical ethics such as genetic testing and end-of-life decisions. Cases as well as theoretical arguments are discussed.

Specific admission requirements: At least one year of full-time undergraduate studies. Documented knowledge of English equivalent to Engelska B/Engelska 6; i.e. English as native language or an internationally recognized test, e.g. TOEFL (minimum scores: Paper based 575 + TWE-score 4.5, and internet based 90), IELTS, academic (minimum score: Overall band 6.5 and no band under 5.5), or equivalent.
