Nursing
Exchange students in the Nursing Programme can design their own study plan, which will usually combine clinical placement and/or group work and/or research projects. Students can also study theoretical modules.
This programme is taught at both Linköping and Norrköping campuses.
Orientation week
Every semester at the Faculty of Health Sciences starts with a compulsory Orientation Week. You need to be present for the duration. This programme introduces international students to the Swedish health care system, and provides information about practice in clinics and health care centres and working with Swedish patients.
The Orientation Week is designed to help exchange students gain as much as possible from their studies at the Faculty of Health Sciences.
The Orientation Weeks 2013/2014 will be held
- 16-23 August for the autumn semester (Friday to Friday)
- 10-17 January for the spring semester (Friday to Friday)
Clinical modules
A clinical placement is normally 4-7 weeks in one area. You can choose to do a 1-week placement as a field study in various areas.
The following clinical modules are usually offered:
- Acute Medical Care (Emergency Ward)
- Acute Surgical Care (Emergency Ward)
- Cardiology
- Elderly care
- Infectious Diseases
- Interprofessional Practice - Training Ward (Orthopaedic Surgical Care)
- Paediatric care
- Primary Care
- Surgical Care
- Thoracic Surgical Care
Students acquire 1.5 credits for each completed week of study.
Theoretical modules
Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Rehabilitation - An International Course, 7.5 credits
Given once a year, full-time study from August for five weeks. This course is taught in English.
Research projects
Exchange students can work on individual research projects during part of the semester. The length of these projects will vary depending on student needs and supervisor availability.
Students acquire 1.5 credits for each completed week of their research project.
