Feminist Genealogies and Social Movements, 7,5 credits

The course provides knowledge about the genealogies of current debates in feminist theory and the ways in which they inform the area of study. The development of feminist politics, ideas and movements from the early 1970s till today is included. The debates are presented in a transnational perspective. Intersectional feminist politics and affiliations between feminist and other social movements are highlighted. To emphasize the diversity of feminist theorizing, different branches are introduced, such as queer-, postcolonial/anti-racist, cyber- , cyborgfeminism, sexual difference, radical feminism, historical materialist feminism, feminist materialism, profeminist and critical studies of men.
