Management Control, 7,5 credits
Management Control is a critical function in an organisation. It is the structure and the process whereby an organisation tries to implement its strategic goals. The purpose of control is to achieve efficient use of resources to attain organisational effectiveness. The course focuses on theories, models and concepts, which are developed and used by the management of an organisation to achieve organisational goals. It also includes an analysis and discussion of the limitations and shortcomings of traditional means of control. The course uses a case study approach, the cases are supported by lectures to give an overview of fundamental models and concepts in each area.
