International Accounting, 7,5 credits
The course focuses on international harmonization of accounting. Accounting regulation bodies such as IASB, EU and FASB are important factors in the harmonization process. On the one hand, accounting must fit the national context and on the other hand it must be international. This multifunction of accounting demands the development of models and rules for accounting. From 1 January 2005, all public companies in the EU must use the IASB accounting regulations. This will create new conditions for accounting in all member states of the EU. Multinational enterprises also have to cope with accounting and context diversity in the process of consolidating their financial reports.
