Welcome to Linköping University!

At Linköping University we welcome new students with a period full of social activities at the beginning of each semester. We want you to get the best possible start for your stay in Sweden and to meet new friends right away. During the welcome period, the International Office and your faculty will welcome you to Linköping University with a range of different activities.

Arrival Days

It is most recommended that you arrive on one of the Arrival Days. Your first stop in Linköping should be the International Office (IO) on Campus Valla in D-Building. In Norrköping you should first stop at the International Office, or the Student Services Desk.

During arrival days, the International Office on Campus Valla is open 10-19.  We will register you, give you your welcome package as well as tell you what to do next. If you have housing via LiU, you can pick up the keys for your accommodation. You will also receive a ride to your room, so you do not need to drag your heavy luggage around.

For the autumn semester 2013, we strongly recommend that you come to Sweden as soon as possible. You will have better chances to get accommodation through LiU if you apply for accommodation from 1st of August. Our office will be open from 1st of August 2013. If you arrive early, you will either have better chances of getting accommodation via LiU/have more time to search for accommodation, get to know Linköping/Norrköping and meet new friends at our various activities, which will be held during the whole month of August. You will also be able to attend the Orientation Day for your faculty, which will provide you with all the information you need.

Norrköping:

If you will do only your degree project, or the courses you will take start later during the semester, make sure to arrive a few days before the beginning of your studies.

Orientation Day

On the Orientation Day, the university will welcome you officially and you will get a short lecture on the most important things you need to know about studying at Linköping University. You will meet both the Exchange student coordinators from the international office as well as your Faculty coordinators, who are in charge of your studies. Afterwards, we invite you to mingle at the welcome fair.

Social Activities

The International Office is organizing social activities together with different student associations during the whole month of August. Be sure to arrive a bit earlier to make the most of the welcome period and to meet new friends!
