Checklist
Here is a checklist of things that you have to do during your first days at Linköping University. You will also receive a printed copy of this when you arrive at LiU.
1. Visit the International Office
Visit the International Office in D-building (entrance 33) on Campus Valla to announce your arrival and pick up an information folder with necessary information for your stay. If you will stay in Norrköping, visit the coordinator in Kåkenhus office 2332. If you have been assigned housing via LiU, sign the contract and pick up your keys at the International Office on Campus Valla.
2. Get your LiU-ID
Get your LiU-ID at the Student Service Desk follow the instructions to activate it.
3. Pick up your LiU-card
The LiU-cards are available at the Student Service Desk. Please bring an ID, e.g. passport, European ID-card. Your LiU-card will have the Mecenat logo printed on it, giving you several national discounts.
4. Check your LiU e-GO
Make sure your LiU e-mail account (e-GO) is working. All study related information will be communicated to this e-mail. You access it at e-GO.student.liu.se . Sign in with your LiU-ID and your self-chosen password.
5. Register for courses
You must register for each course you are taking in the beginning of each semester that you study here. The registration is done via the Student Portal, which you can access via the e-learning platform LISAM and is open for two weeks after the course has started. If you have any problems registering, please contact the Student Service Desk.
6. Check the course timetables
Students at the Institute of Technology and the Faculty of Arts and Sciences can check their timetables here. Please note: You will NOT receive an individual timetable, but will have to check the courses individually in the TimeEdit system. You will get further instructions at Orientation Day and from your Faculty coordinator. Students at the Faculty of Health Sciences will receive their schedule upon arrival.
7. Hand in your Learning Agreement
Hand in your Learning Agreement, signed by your home university, to your faculty coordinator. If you will study at the Institute of Technology, your home university should sign and send your learning agreement to LiU.

Glossary
- LiU Card: a personal card that works as student ID, key card, library card and campus bus card.
- LiU e-GO: LiU’s e-mail account. It is compulsory for all students to open one.
- LiU-ID: a given username that you use to access computers on campus and LiU’s online services, e.g. the Student Portal, your LiU e-mail account etc.
- Mecenat sticker: a discount sticker that gives you reduced prices on, for example, train tickets.
- P-nr and T-nr: a personal number created by the university for administrative purposes.
- LISAM: an e-learning platform where you can store documents, access course material, register for courses and exams, check your study results, order a transcripts of records and more.
