LiU is the controller of personal data and responsible for processing personal data on www.liu.se.

Purposes of data processing

LiU processes your personal data when:

•  You register for a course, study programme, conference or other event organised by LiU. LiU stores information so that it can administer and follow up courses, study programmes and events.
•   Request an e-mail from LiU via our website.
•   Order a printed publication from LiU via our website.
•   Post in one of our discussion forums or on a notice board.

Transferring personal data

Your personal data may also be made available to any party that requires access to it following electronic data processing, which is based on fulfilling a contract with you, a legal obligation, a work-related task of public interest or in connection with the exercise of public authority, where data processing is necessary.

The right to request information

In accordance with Section 26 of the Personal Data Act (1998:204), you have the right to request information once a year whether or not personal data concerning you is processed by LiU, regardless if it has been collated via the website or in another manner. If you wish to receive such information, you must submit a written and signed request to us. In accordance with the Personal Data Act, the request must be in paper form, i.e., you cannot send this via e-mail.
