Cookies on LiU's website
LiU's website www.liu.se uses cookies. Cookies are small text files that are stored on the visitor's computer and that can be used to follow the visitor's actions on the website.
There are two different types of cookies:
- A permanent cookie, which remains on the visitors computer for a certain period of time.
- A session cookie, which is stored temporarily in the computer's memory whilst the visitor is viewing a website. Session cookies disappear when you close your web browser.
Permanent cookies are used to store any personal settings (currently language settings, will later include contrast and typeface).
If you do not accept the use of cookies, you can switch these off in your web browser's security settings. You can also change the settings so that the computer asks you whether you accept the use of cookies every time a website tries to store cookies on your computer. The web browser can also delete previously stored cookies – see your web browser's support pages for more information.
The Swedish Post and Telecom authority (PTS), which is the supervisory authority in this field, provides additional information about Cookies on its website, www.pts.se
