Visiting Linköping and Norrköping

The twin cities Linköping and Norrköping are situated in southern Sweden, about 200 kilometres south of Stockholm. The Copenhagen-Stockholm link of the central European railroad trunk passes through the cities, as does the arterial Euro-Highway 4 (E4). The distance between the two cities is 40 kilometres.

Air

By air it takes about one hour from Copenhagen International Airport and just under two hours from Amsterdam International Airport. There are two local airports - one in Linköping and one in Norrköping - with regular flight connections to domestic and international destinations.

Those arriving at Norrköping Airport can continue to the city centre by taxi, car or airport bus no 116. From Linköping City Airport, taxi or car are the best alternatives.

Train or bus

To Linköping and Norrköping

Linköping and Norrköping can be reached by train or car from Stockholm in less than two and a half hours and from Copenhagen in five hours. The railway stations (travel centres) in both cities are situated a ten-minute walk from the city centre.

Between Linköping and Norrköping

Trains and buses (no. 70-74) run regularly between Linköping and Norrköping. Buses take about 40 minutes, commuter train about 40 minutes.

To our campuses

LiU students and employees may travel by Campus bus between the University Hospital Campus (Campus US), Campus Valla and Campus Norrköping. From 13 August the Campus bus is coordinated with Östgötatrafiken's bus no 73.
