Close to business and community

Linköping University has exceptionally strong connections with the surrounding society. We work with many players from our own region, Sweden, Europe and the rest of the world.

Possibly the best examples of the university's role as a regional engine are Mjärdevi and Norrköping Science Parks with more than 370 companies. Many of these have their roots in Linköping University research. Some are global leaders such as Sectra with its medical image management systems.

The Innovations Office at LiU is one of eight in Sweden with a government mission to work with application of research findings. Here, researchers and students receive assistance to commercialise their results. Through the Lead Business Incubator we support companies who have new innovative ideas and high-growth potential.

Among LiU’s many partners are companies, schools, municipalities and authorities. We collaborate with other universities in Sweden and have an extensive international exchange.
