Support for students with special needs

Linköping University has a responsibility to support special needs students in different ways. An overall aim is to offer, as far as possible, appropriate support to the special needs student so that he/she can pursue studies on the same conditions as other students.

In addition to impaired vision, defective hearing and mobility disabilities, there are different kinds of functional disorders, of physical as well as mental origin, which can cause problems during studies, e.g. difficulties in reading and writing.

The special needs student is entitled to the following services:

  • note-taking during lectures
  • course literature in alternative forms
  • sign language interpreting /Swedish sign language)
  • studentguides
  • special arrangements during tuition and examinations
