Madina Tlostanova, a chair in postcolonial feminism at the Department of Thematic Studies (Gender Studies) at Linkoping University, will present her research. She is a trans-diasporic scholar with mixed ethnic origins (Circassian, Tatar, Uzbek). She was trained in Moscow State University as an American Studies major focusing on the US Southern fiction, then gradually drifted to multiculturalism and transcultural aesthetics to finally shift to post/ decolonial interpretation of the post-soviet space, subjectivities, literature and the arts.

2016-06-06 -- 2016-06-07 The Posthumanities International Network workshop "The Diseased Posthuman" explores the topic of bio-technobodies and pharmaceutical bodies from the theoretical perspective of post-anthropocentrism and posthumanism – putting into question the dichotomist and normative notions of disease, sickness, health, life, dis/ability and the epidemic, the toxic as well as the “natural” body. "The Diseased Posthuman" is part of a seminar series organized by the Posthumanities International Network. Formed in partnership between The Posthumanities Hub at the Linkoping University; Centre for the Humanities at University of Utrecht; Digital Culture Unit of Goldsmiths, University of London; and Centre for Interdisciplinary Methodologies at the University of Warwick, PIN brings together scholars invested in post-conventional humanities and provides a flexible platform for further research and collaboration.
