He describes how income inequality has evolved in the period 1990-2010 in Swedish metropolitan areas and analyzes how much of this change can be explained by changes in the distribution of labour market earnings and welfare benefit transfers, or by changes in the ethnic composition of the population as a consequence of increased immigration.
