LiU Commencement Ceremony
Once again it’s time for academic festivities at Linköping University with the Commencement Ceremony taking place Friday 25 May. 18 new professors will be installed, four honorary doctors awarded and 53 doctorates will be conferred at a Commencement ceremony at Louis De Geer, Norrköping.
The Faculty of Health Sciences is well represented at the spring ceremony, bagging more than half of the new professors and doctors. No fewer than eleven new professors are from the Health Sciences, while four are from the Faculty of Arts and three from the Institute of Technology (LITH). Among doctors, 28 PhDs will be conferred Health Sciences, 19 from LITH, five from the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and one from the Faculty of Educational Sciences.
The ceremony begins at 16.00 and the Norrköping Symphony Orchestra will entertain the audience.
Honorary Doctor Simeon Mining gave a public lecture on Wednesday 23/5, and the following day it was time for other honorary doctorates to speak Göran Lundin, Roger A. Pielke Jr. and Gunnar Elfström.
On Thursday evening a concert was given at the De Geer Hall, in Norrkoping. Merete Ellegaard conducted the Norrköping Symphony Orchestra and music was played from, among others: Carl Nielsen, Hilding Rosenberg, Tchaikovsky and Stravinsky.
