Xmas carols galore...

It’s high time for Christmas concerts! A dozen, to be precise. No fewer than five of LiU’s university choirs will present public performances, from November 30 to December 10.

  • Chorus Lin are first with a concert at the centrally located church, Slaka Kyrkan, 30 November, and following that concert they sing at a church from the Middle Ages, Heda kyrka on 3 December and at the 18th century church, St. Lars kyrka on December 4.
  • In Norrköping Skön will recreate the Christmas spirit, delivering a musical game that involves 'guess that tune' and a crossword, otherwise known as "Melodikryss", at a church in Stockholm Immanuelskyrkan, 2 and 3 December.
  • LiHtösen is a male choir that will present carols at the Swedish Baptist Church in Linköping, Saturday 4 December.
  • Linköping student vocalists traditionally perform at St. Lars Church on Wednesday 7, Thursday 8 and will hold dual concerts Saturday 10. Astrid Kastensson, soprano and the Östgöta Brass Quintet will be performing.
  • The academic female choir Linnea will deliver a Lucia concert December 9 at Missionskyrka. A traditional Lucia procession, the choir will also present Benjamin Britten's A Ceremony of Carols. On 13 December, the Linnea Lucia procession will continue to Nationioners hus.

NB: Only Linköping male choir offers information about their choirs in English. The links to Chorus Lin, Skön and Linnea are directed to email addresses.
