Junior Faculty Prize for Sustainable Research Environment

Each year from 2009 Junior Faculty announces a prize for the most prominent researcher in supporting junior researchers.
Aim of the prize
The aim of this prize is to encourage senior researchers supporting the careers of junior researchers, thus creating a sustainable research environment.
Selection criteria
The committee will select the winner based on the following criteria:
The senior researcher should support junior researchers within her/his group, with the intention of increasing their independence for a future successful research career. Important aspects are the senior researcher’s availability, willingness and capability to share previous research experiences, networks and funding advice. The senior researcher should give opportunities for getting meriting tasks such as secondary supervisorship and teaching. The senior researcher should support the junior researchers’ strategic career planning. Furthermore, the senior researcher should follow sound and fair publishing strategies and contribute to a creative forum for intellectual exchange between junior and senior researchers within the sustainable research environment.
