Nobel Prize winner visits LiU
Torsten Wiesel, Nobel Laureate in Medicine in 1981, lecturing at LiU on 10 February.
Excellent nano researchers
Daniel Aili, Research Associate at Linköping University, is one of 14 young scientists selected for the Ingvar Carlsson Award. It provides him with nearly SEK 3 million for a project that aims to restore damaged tissues in the human body.
LiU teacher wins award
Students at the Human Resource Management and Development Programme have voted Jan-Ake Sandell teacher of the year for 2011. Sandell is a lecturer at the Department of Commercial Law. The reason, among other things, is that he "conducts incredibly good and interesting lectures that are structured in a pedagogical way."
Decisions from the university's leadership
Members have been appointed to the Rector’s Advisory Board, the steering committee for LIST, and the new director of the Forum for Didactics.
Increased media profile for LiU
During 2011, Linköping University expanded its media profile in the Swedish media by 13.5%. During the same period other higher education institutions retracted.
Phishing Alert
Currently spam e-mail is circulating LiU, where employees are asked to provide their Webmail password. Several employees at the Zenit building have received it.
Meet Nobel laureate at LiU
This year's scientific Nobel laureates have one thing in common. They highlight discoveries that were previously perceived as impossible. Chemistry laureate Dan Shechtman was one of those swimming against the tide. On Friday, he will visit Linköping University.
