	Background</h3>
<p>
	Slawomir Braun born in Wiecbork, Poland. Studied technical physics at University of Technology and Life Sciences in Bydgoszcz, Poland. As an exchange student within European Union (EU) programme: Erasmus-Socrates, he wrote his undergraduate thesis in the Applied Optics group at Link&#246;ping University. In 2007, he received his Ph.D.degree in the group of Prof. William Salaneck at Linkoping University, Sweden. He is currently&#160;reasearch associate&#160;in the group of Prof. Mats Fahlman. His current interests are focused on organic-organic interfaces and interfacial engineering for optimization of organic electronic devices. <!--[if gte mso 9]><xml>

	Research</h2>
<p>
	Though my early interests included quantum chemical modeling of electronic structure in condensed organic materials, my research is now centered on experimental studies of semiconducting and conducting organic and hybrid organic systems. The approach is to do basic science on topics of technological importance, often in collaboration with companies. A wide variety of surface science techniques are used with emphasis on (resonant) photoelectron spectroscopy and x-ray absorption, mainly carried out at synchrotron radiation laboratories such as MAX-lab in Lund, but also using XPS/UPS equipment in our labs.<br />
	I currently pursue two main topics of research. One is the study of organic/organic and metal/organic interfaces (interface engineering) and their role in applications such as light emitting diodes, photovoltaic cells (solar cells), hybrid organic spin-valves, transistors and functional coatings (anti-static, anti-corrosion, bio-compatibility, magnetic). The other topic is hybrid organic spintronics, where we do materials development and thin film deposition of semiconducting organic-based molecular room temperature magnets, basic materials characterization and prototype device design and fabrication.</p>

	Research</h2>
<p>
	Though my early interests included quantum chemical modeling of electronic structure in condensed organic materials, my research is now centered on experimental studies of semiconducting and conducting organic and hybrid organic systems. The approach is to do basic science on topics of technological importance, often in collaboration with companies. A wide variety of surface science techniques are used with emphasis on (resonant) photoelectron spectroscopy and x-ray absorption, mainly carried out at synchrotron radiation laboratories such as MAX-lab in Lund, but also using XPS/UPS equipment in our labs.<br />
	I currently pursue two main topics of research. One is the study of organic/organic and metal/organic interfaces (interface engineering) and their role in applications such as light emitting diodes, photovoltaic cells (solar cells), hybrid organic spin-valves, transistors and functional coatings (anti-static, anti-corrosion, bio-compatibility, magnetic). The other topic is hybrid organic spintronics, where we do materials development and thin film deposition of semiconducting organic-based molecular room temperature magnets, basic materials characterization and prototype device design and fabrication.</p>
