Transparent conducting oxides
The main focus of our efforts concerns the interfacing of TCOs with organic electronic materials for use in light emitiing devices and photovoltaic cells. We characterize the electronic, chemical and physicalm properties of such interfaces in collaborate with device and materials groups. Our current interests are ZnO-derivatives interfaces with organic electronic materials for use in e.g. photovoltaic cells and light emitting devices. We study the surface and interface properties mainly using photoelectron spectroscopy techniques.
General Overview
Transparent conducting oxides (TCO) deposited as thin films can be used for applications in sectors of electronic and optoelectronic devices, as protective coatings and for photo-catalysis. Popular applications include ZnO-based light emitting diodes and ITO-based electrodes in OLED and LCD displays.
