The HELIX Partnership

The partnership, which is the most important part of HELIX, was initiated in 2003 when work commenced on the application to VINNOVA. The partnership was based on a Triple Helix model, which in turn evolved into a Quadruple Helix, which means you not only have partners from universities, industry and public sector, but also from labour market organisations.

The partners involved in HELIX not only help with funding in the form of money, but also with a lot of effort in terms of time and commitment. Partner organisations have opened their doors to researchers from HELIX, and forms the prerequisite for the interactive research conducted at HELIX. The partners also participate in the development of new research projects and provide a valuable arena for discussion and analysis of ongoing projects.

One of the major objectives of the partnership is to not only get the partner organisations involved in the project, but also to bring together partner organisations from the different fields in projectst. In this way we are breaking the traditional boundaries between industry and public organisations. We also have frequent interactions between both company management, employees and union representatives in a single project.

The partnership meets regularly, four times a year, in joint partnership meetings. Also, representatives from our partners meet in various configurations in the research and innovation projects. The Partnership has an active part in HELIX, and acts as a powerful driver for strategic development of research projects and activities. Partner organisations also have a very important role in the assessment and implementation of research findings.
