Are you doing practical work, research or perhaps both within the gender (equality) field?

This conference is an opportunity for academics, practitioners as well as policy makers to meet and discuss if and how questions of equality, growth and sustainability can be reconciled in organisations and implemented in general practice. The conference will provide new research results, policy discussions and hopefully new ideas on how to advance the practical and theoretical work through collaborative/joint ventures between academia and society. There will also be many opportunities to meet and network throughout the conference.

The conference is a mix of presentations and discussions with participants from all over the world. The interactive conference format contains eight interactive workshops, one of which contains Forum Theatre: on doing Diversity. Eleven parallel academic paper sessions address issues such as what is the relationship between entrepreneurship and politics for gender equality, how can we find tools for sustainable gender equality work in work organizations and how work-family balancing strategies vary by gender and context.

The four key note speakers, as well as the concluding panel, will address and discuss the conference topics from their view points as policy makers, researchers and/or practitioners. Key note speakers include Ms Viviane Reding, Vice-President of the European Commission, Mieke Verloo Professor of Comparative Politics and Inequality Issues at Radboud University Nijmegen, Jeff Hearn Professor in Gender Studies with a focus on critical studies on men at Linköping university and Tryggvi Hallgrimsson from the Center of Gender Equality, Iceland.
