Psychopharmacology
This field of research deals with medicines for mental diagnoses such as psychosis, depression, and anxiety conditions. The substances being studied are ones that can pass through the blood-brain barrier and thus influence the processes in the central nervous system. Research at LiU is aimed at the effects and side effects of new psychopharmacological drugs as well as the so-called racemates, medicine which contain two mirror molecules.
