Childhood allergies

Allergies and asthma in children and the young continue to increase. Sensitivity to foodstuffs afflicts approximately six percent of all children under three and is consequently one of the most common health problems in small children. Asthma is the most common chronic disorder among children. Disorders in the immune system cause these symptoms as a result of a combination of inherited and environmental factors.
Research focuses on increased understanding of these factors, including clinical trials aiming to prevent allergy development.
