Profile and Research
I received my M.Sc. degree in Applied Physics and Electrical Engineering from Linköping University in 2011. In the framework of my M.Sc. thesis I worked on the off-normal growth of thin films using a highly ionized deposition technique named high power impulse magnetron sputtering (HiPIMS). The goal of my Ph.D. research (started in November 2011) is to contribute to the understanding of the physical mechanisms that determine formation of thin films when synthesized by highly ionized, time dependent processes (e.g. HiPIMS). Using in-situ diagnostic tools I seek to understand the fundamentals of nucleation of metallic films on amorphous substrates and use this knowledge to tune the optical and electrical properties of the films. I also perform research on the off-normal film growth using higly ionzed fluxes (realized e.g. by HiPIMS) seeking to establish and understand the relations between process parameters, morphology and crystallographic properties of the films.
