CARER has established cooperative links with several international and Swedish research institutes and departments. Our collaboration with these institutes is a great asset to the CARER's research. We are pleased that this collaboration is constantly increasing and becoming more concrete.
MSB
Swedish Civil Contigencies Agency
The task of the MSB is to enhance and support societal capacities for preparedness for and prevention of emergencies and crises. When one does occur, we support the stakeholders involved by taking the right measures to control the situation.
Furthermore, we ensure that we learn from the experience. Our work is conducted in close collaboration with other societal actors and encompasses the entire threat and risk scale, from minor everyday accidents to major disasters.
Security Link
Security Link is a strategic research centers in the area of Security and Crisis Managament. The center is a consortium formed by Linköping University (LiU) and the Swedish Defence Research Agency (FOI), together with complementary expertise from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) and Chalmers University of Technology. The work is organized in the research areas Secure and robust wireless communications, Advanced sensors and detectors, Sensor and information fusion, Decision support and coordination for emergency and crisis response, and Risk analysis and ethics of crisis management.
Forum Securitas
Graduate school in Security and Crisis Management
Forum Securitatis is a multidisciplinary graduate school in the field of security in society and crisis management. Forum Securitatis is managed by the Swedish Defence Research Agency (FOI) and Linköping University (LiU) and is financed jointly by VINNOVA (The Swedish Agency for Innovation Systems), FOI and LiU.
Forum Securitatis provides education and practical training within the topics of security in society and crisis management. Security in society includes not only systems and methods for protection of important societal functions including infrastructures, but also studies of more complex situations where new surveillance technologies may impact on personal integrity. Crisis management includes technologies and methods for supporting society in preventing crises, during rescue operations, and for post-incident normalisation at local, regional, and national levels.
SOS Alarm
SOS Alarm Sweden AB is 50 percent owned by the Swedish State and 50 percent by Sweden's municipalities and county councils (SKL). The company operates 18 emergency centers across the country. SOS Alarm's main task is to on behalf of the State be responsible for the emergency number 112. Every year they receive about 20 million emergency calls. Approximately 3.6 million of them are emergency calls, which is also the most complex. They cooperate with the rescue and ambulance services but have also cooperation with the police, mountain and sea rescue and other rescue agencies. The company's two main branches are composed of community services (112 service, civil protection, directing ambulance, Society's Emergency Management and Rakel) and Safety and Emergency Services (e.g. fire, burglary, personal and social alarms, emergency services and event information).
