Research
During the first two years, the research activities are focused on five challenges:
- More gas from existing systems
- New substrates
- New sectors
- Cooperation for better performance
- Conditions for development.
These challenges are tackled in five projects of exploratory nature, aiming to evaluate different technology paths (1-5) and three projects focused on technical and process development (6-8):
- Improvement of the biogas production process
- Systematic assessment of feedstock for an expanded biogas production
- Biogas in new industries
- Collaboration for improved economic and environmental performance
- Municipalities as system builders in energy systems
- Increased methane production and process stability in biogas reactors
- Enzymatic increase of sludge digestion
- Systems and technology for effective use of biofertilizers
