Training and medical support

Daily joint training

Coaches Peter Holgersson and Peter Öberg stand for a range of daily trainings, often together with middle- and long-distance track runners. In this way orienteers and track runners can do great interval training and accompanied during distance sessions – both at the path / road and in untrodden terrain. Forests around Linköping and Norrköping – especially Kolmården outside Norrköping – contains plenty of fresh maps suited for technically demanding orienteering.

Additional orienteering training

In addition to LiU Orienteering's own trainings, the main local clubs – including Linköpings OK, OK Denseln and OK Kolmården – have opened their activities for orienteers at LiU and the total training provision will therefore be very large. Please note that club membership will not affect the opportunity to participate and the clubs see a profit in other orienteers visiting their workouts.

Theory that develops orienteers

Som days lectures are given in orienteering tactics, training, biomechanics, running on different bases, strength and mobility. Lectures are followed by discussions to develop the students' own training.

Running indoors in Linköping and Norrköping

Within Campus Valla (Linköping) and near Campus Norrköping there are top modern athletics indoor halls. Together with the Team Sportia Hall in Motala and the Rosvalla Hall in Nyköping there are four new halls in the region.

Student associations

LiTHe Lost and LiTHe Acid are the orienteers' and track runners' associations with broad activities; they represent the major non-profit activities in cooperation with LIU Orienteering and LIU Running.
