Course Design, Examination and Evaluation ‒ Advanced Course in Higher Education Pedagogy, 6 ECTS credits
This course is intended for teachers who need to develop their competence in roles as course coordinator and examiner. Course design, examination and evaluation are the main themes. With the help of current administration and policy documents, the latest pedagogic/didactic research and using theoretical and practical examples of the assessment and appraisal of study work, the course addresses questions and tasks that relate to course development and the quality-assurance of education. The university’s interaction with the local community – in the form of political decisions, for instance – is also examined during the course.
It is an advantage but not a requirement for participants to perform course or examination duties during the course period.
This course awards 6 ECTS credits (160 hours), i.e. four weeks of full-time study, of which seven full days are scheduled at 9.15 am – 4 pm. Information about the course is sent to the participants at the start of the course. This includes study counselling information about the design of the course, work forms and examination.
Course participants are expected to attend and actively participate in all classes. The course is examined continuously in the form of four written assignments to be reviewed at seminars and via the active contributions of participants at seminars and other learning activities.
As of January 2013, the course designation is Course Design, Examination and Evaluation – Advanced Course in Higher Education Pedagogy (KEU). It replaces the course Design, Evaluation, and Organization of Learning – specialisation course in Higher Education Pedagogy (DUO). There is a link to the syllabus at the bottom of the page.
Please note that the course may be fully booked by the closing application date.
