Cognitive Science 120 hp

The field of cognitive science seeks to know how people and technology could work together. The key is to develop and evaluate a variety of technical solutions based on human's circumstances and potential. In the interactions between humans and technology it is necessary that human’s conditions and development potential are taken into account, while having knowledge of the capabilities and limitations that modern information technology has. The Master's program is closely linked to research and a large part of the teaching is done in cooperation with various research groups. There is a possibility to specialize in different fields such as behaviour in complex systems, Human Factors, interaction design, language technology, cognitive modelling and cognition and communication.

Master's program in Disability Research 120 hp

This masters program is interdisciplinary and you will analyze handicap and on a biological, psychological, social level and from an overall perspective. Areas such as disease, disability and handicap are problematize. The education addresses issues such as: What is disability? What does disability depend on? What functions are prevented by the disability? What can you cure? What do we want to cure? Who is abnormal? Who is normal? The masters program includes courses in areas such as development, social cognition, practical applications, communication, neuroscience, everyday life and work. Furthermore you will get tools that are relevant in various fields such as education, technology, education and care.

Master's program in Language and Culture in Europe 120 hp

The Master’s Programme in Language and Culture aims to develop the students’ capacity for informed analysis of the history, development and characteristics of the European languages and literatures. Concentrating on the major epochs and languages, it promotes a broad, interdisciplinary competence in linguistic, literary and anthropological theory and method and is devoted to the study of language processes and literary texts seen in their cultural context. The materials studied may range from everyday conversations to novels, plays, poems, and films. Though it is a two-year, full-time study programme divided into two independent parts, on completion of the first year students are eligible for a one-year Master of Arts degree.

The student association KogVet

KogVet is the student association of the Cognitive Science program at Linköping University in Sweden. KogVet is made up of and run by the students themselves and works to ensure that the Cognitive Science program remains a top-notch university program as well as provides a wide range of social activities to ensure that the students will have a great time here. The association was founded in 1995 during the second year after the founding of the Cognitive Science program itself. KogVet has grown to become one of the most active student associations at the university and more than half of its members take part in it and help organizing the activities that it arranges.
