Campus LiU 2015
Project Campus LiU 2015 is a programme of facility initiatives aimed at creating propose-designed learning environments and workplaces to help LiU become more competitive. As part of the project, measures will be implemented on the three campus areas in Linköping and Norrköping.
Student on scouting trip with management
Today, student representation on the boards and committees of Linköping University is commonplace. Oskar Lyding is on the Vice-Chancellor’s management board and accompanied the University Management on its scouting trip a couple of weeks ago. And the trip yielded several good ideas.
New student kitchen in Täppan
As soon as the furniture and other fittings are in place a new student kitchen will open in Täppan on Campus Norrköping. This will also be the first student kitchen in Täppan.
Campus LiU 2015 firms up
Plans for Campus LiU 2015 are moving to the next stage. In the outline that will be presented today to the faculty and departmental heads there is a new plan that will create the meeting place for students, visitors and staff that Linköping University does not have.
Major environmental objectives for Kopparhammaren
Environmental ambitions are big as LiU prepares to sign a new rental agreement for Kopparhammaren 2 in Norrköping. Green roofs and solar panels are among the measures that the owners hope will bring the buildings a classification as Gold and Silver class Environmental buildings (Miljöbyggnad).
New study stations opened
Please take a seat! With these words, Vice-Chancellor Helen Dannetun opened the almost 150 new study places in a-building.
New rental agreement for Kopparhammaren
At its latest meeting, the University Board decided to sign a rental agreement for Kopparhammaren 2 in Norrköping. This means that construction can begin in the fall of 2013.
Presentation of Campus LiU 2015

Campus Valla
The background for the proposed changes on Campus Valla is the long-overdue modernisation of the bookable tuition facilities – most of which are in the C Building – to create a better study environment for the students and to bring the administrative and student service personnel under one roof.
Campus US
The extension and rebuilding work on Campus US is slightly ahead of schedule. This is due to the county council already having begun work on the new university hospital and the fact that the university’s and council’s operations are so closely interconnected on US.
Campus Norrköping
In Norrköping, the university’s activities are spread across several buildings and take up a sizeable part of the Industrial Landscape. The objective is to create a more cohesive campus area on both sides of the river near the new campus bridge.
New study carrels in A-building
More study carrels! This is what many students are asking for. 150 new carrels are now being prepared in A-building.
Project office in the Key building
Now the Campus LiU 2015 projekt has moved into a new office in the Key building on Campus Valla. It will serve as an example of the design and layout of the new, modern workplace.
Workshops a channel for students’ views
The focus of Campus LiU 2015 will be on the students’ study environment, a renewed perspective on teaching and a good student services. Seven workshops were held in the late autumn to give students the opportunity to air their views.
Vallastaden
Vallastaden, the new district adjacent to Campus Valla, is scheduled for completion in 2016. Undergraduate and postgraduate students at LiU have been involved in planning the area.
New meeting place for LiU employees
Universitetsklubben, a new meeting place for the employees of the university, was officially opened on Campus Valla on 29 November. Former restaurant Vallfarten was rebuilt and modernised to accommodate lunches, meetings, relaxation, seminars and after-work gatherings.

Campus LiU 2015 will take several years to complete and most of you will be affected by it to a greater or lesser extent. To ensure that all students and employees are kept up-to-date about what’s going on, the project has its own website.
Lecture halls tested for the future
Tables and chairs on wheels, soft carpeting, glass whiteboards and new colour schemes. Teachers and students can find them in three lecture halls in C-huset. These halls are being tested out prior to a larger renovation of the three oldest parts of the building.
